Ferroli's book had a limited scope it was written by an Italian for Italians Fr. was an Italian Jesuit and basing himself mainly on Jesuit sources he wrote this book in Italian to introduce the great works of Jesuit missionaries in foreign lands especially in Mysore to Italians although the intent of the author was limited he transcended his scope and has given us a socio cultural mosaic of Mysore of the missionary times and also the inception of Karnataka church this publication marks the year when thanks to generosity of the Delhi Province the Karnataka Jesuits resumed their presence in Mysore with their house of ministry at Xavier sadan at Naguvanahalli near Sriranga Patna may the seed sown and watered with their sweat and blood by the early missionaries bear plentiful fruit for the greater glory of God.
